Tips for your big day

Here are some tips to make your wedding day go by a bit more smoothly!!

Hire a Day-Of Coordinator or Planner

This is important to have one person be dedicated to handling your wedding day and managing the logistics, last minute details, and ensuring everything stays on schedule. This will allow you to be relaxed knowing everything is being handled by a trusted individual.

Plan for Unexpected delays

No day is perfect, but that is why it is important to hire the best vendors possible. I always give a buffer time in my timelines. I typically put in 30 minutes of “buffer” before the ceremony, that way if things get behind, there is time to make it up. And if everything goes according to plan, you have 30 minutes of rest time before walking down the asile!

Eat and Stay Hydrated

This is sooo important. Sometimes with all the excitement and nerves, a lot of brides forget to eat or even take sips of water. Be sure to have snacks and some water nearby. You will want to feel your best for your wedding day. Have your MOH be in charge in making sure you always have access to snacks/water. I typically try to remind and ask my brides if they need a minute to rest or if they need a drink of water. :)

Keep the “Getting Ready” Room Tidy

I know it is difficult to keep the getting ready room looking clean and organized, but try to have someone or your MOH make sure that counters and couches or whatever is in your room organized and looking nice. Especially before we start doing some of the getting ready photos, that way the background looks nice and clean :)

Have an Emergency Kit

Have your MOH make sure you have a small kit with essentials like safety pins, stain remover, sewing kit, pain relievers, breath mints, pads/tampons and anything else that might come in handy! For my wedding day, I purchased an emergency kit from amazon, and it came in such a cute bag full of all the essentials I might need.

Have a Plan for After the Reception

Make sure you have a clear plan for what happens after reception, such as transportation for you and your guest, packing up gifts, cleaning up etc.

Trust Your Vendors

You have hired professionals for a reason, trust them to do their job! That way you can relax and enjoy your day. This is why it is important to research your vendors before booking.

ENJOY THE MOMENTS

This is so important and often forgotten! Your wedding day will go by SO fast. Take some moments and really soak in everything that is going on. Look at all of the people you love that are there to celebrate with you and your spouse. Do not let small details stress you and ruin your day. Remember to BREATHE. It is so easy to get caught up in the small details. Remember the most important thing is you are there to marry the love of your life!
